Summary:
Geomet Recycling is seeking a Bilingual Retail Scale Operator to join our team. This front-line role is responsible for welcoming retail customers, weighing and grading materials, and generating accurate tickets for payment. You’ll play a key part in delivering outstanding customer service while ensuring efficient, compliant, and accurate transaction processing.
Essential Functions:
- Serve as the first point of contact for all retail customers, providing a friendly and helpful experience.
- Accurately weigh, grade, and record all incoming retail materials using company systems.
- Follow and enforce all state recycling laws and company policies related to material intake and customer interaction.
- Maintain customer records in our internal software system, ensuring all information is accurate and up to date.
- Guide customers on accepted materials and current pricing, offering support in both English and Spanish.
- Assist with cash transaction card applications and the creation of customer cards.
- Create receiving tickets and assign appropriate commodity codes based on material type.
- Direct customers to the proper unloading areas and ensure smooth flow at the scale.
- Handle all transactions efficiently and provide clear payment instructions to customers.
- Communicate any guest needs or concerns to management promptly.
- Keep the workstation and kiosk area clean, organized, and safe.
- Attend required company safety meetings and follow all safety guidelines.
- Support additional tasks and special projects as needed.
Required Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1–2 years of retail or customer service experience preferred.
- Must be bilingual in English and Spanish (required).
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a customer-focused attitude.
- Team player with a willingness to learn and grow in a dynamic environment.
