Summary/Objective:
The Roll-off driver is primarily responsible for safely operating roll-off trucks to transport scrap material from local customers, scrap yards, and designated drop-off points as assigned. This role involves daily interaction with customers, adherence to safety protocols, and contributing to the overall efficiency of scrap metal collection and processing operations.
Essential Functions:
- Operate company owned vehicle for the delivery and pick-up of scrap material.
- Completes daily pre-shift/pre-trip inspection of truck reporting any issues promptly.
- Provides outstanding customer service during delivery and pickup operations representing the company in a positive manner.
- Maintains all required certifications required by DOT and OSHA and company safety programs.
- Communicate with dispatch and yard personnel regarding schedules, delays, or issues.
- Stages trailers at docks as directed by scale operator as needed.
- Assists with inventory of trailers at end of each business day detailing loaded or empty as needed.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local transportation regulations.
- Performs other projects/tasks as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:
- High school diploma/GED required.
- Minimum 1–2 years of commercial driving experience preferred (roll-off or dump truck experience a plus).
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
- Maintain Active Class A CDL license.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
- This is a full-time position and work days are Monday through Friday.
- Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel: Travel is primarily local during the business day.
