Position Summary
Geomet Recycling is seeking a Payment & Customer Support Specialist to join our team. The primary focus of this role is to provide exceptional support to both our customers and internal sales representatives by ensuring timely and accurate payment processing. The role requires excellent communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and proficiency in computer systems and data management.
What You'll Do:
· Communication: Act as a liaison between customers and our internal sales team, resolving any grading discrepancies, addressing inquiries, and providing updates on payment status.
· Payment Processing: Accurately calculate the value of scrap metal based on the established grading criteria and process payments to customers in a timely manner.
· Purchase Order Management: Manage and organize purchase orders and related documentation, ensuring all necessary information is recorded and maintained.
· Quality Assurance: Collaborate with the quality control team to confirm the accuracy of grading standards.
· Data Entry: Input and maintain accurate records of scrap metal transactions and customer information in our database systems.
· Problem Resolution: Handle customer disputes or concerns professionally and efficiently, striving to find mutually beneficial resolutions.
· Cross-functional Support: Collaborate with sales and account management teams to provide seamless support and contribute to overall customer satisfaction.
What We're Looking For:
· Previous experience in customer service, support, or a similar role is preferred.
· Strong knowledge of nonferrous metals and alloys.
· Exceptional attention to detail.
· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and information systems.
· Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Strong work ethic and commitment to customer satisfaction.
Required Education and Experience
· High school diploma or GED.
· Minimum 2-3 years of administrative / support experience
· Experience in the scrap metal industry preferred but not required
